Supporting the transition to college: Accelerated learning access, outcomes, and credit transfer in Oregon

Accelerated learning provides students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school and is a promising strategy for improving the educational attainment of students. Oregon has made a major investment in promoting accelerated learning statewide. This presentation will share findings from a study that represents one of the first in-depth examinations of this effort and addresses several important questions, including: Who is participating in accelerated learning? What school and student characteristics are related to participation? Has it improved the high school graduation and college enrollment and persistence outcomes of historically underrepresented students? Did students transfer their college credits earned in high school to college? During the presentation, there will be ample time to reflect on the findings and discuss their implications for your work.
